Classic Fry Up!
- Cut mushrooms down to mid-bottom of stem and wash with cold water. Chop to preferred size.
- Heat butter or oil in frying pan, medium to high heat. Try adding some minced garlic.
- Add mushrooms to hot pan and coat in the hot oil or butter.
- season with salt, pepper and your favorite spices!
- sautee the mushrooms until they are tender and the liquid cooks away. Cook a bit longer for some extra crisp!
Marinated Mushrooms
- Slice mushrooms to preffered size (200-400g).
- Mix 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 5 tbsp of soy sauce and 2 tbsp of toasted seasme oil in a bowl.
- Add mushrooms to the marinade and allow to soak for 20-30 minutes.
- Drain mushrooms and cook in hot pan for 3-4 minutes per side, until tender and slightly charred.
- Add salt,pepper, olive oil and fresh herbs to taste.
Mushroom Bacon Quiche
- Chop mushrooms roughly. (100-200g). Slice onions, garlic and bacon (3-4 strips) into small pieces.
- Crack 6-8 eggs into a bowl, beat until fully combined.
- Add sour cream or heavy whipping cream to the eggs (1/2-1 cup). Add a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Sautee the ontions, garlic and bacon for 2-3 minutes at med-high heat.
- Add the chopped mushrooms to the sautee mixture and good until tender.
- Pour egg/cream mixture into the pan. Cover pan with lid and turn heat to low. Allow eggs to cook until quiche has solidified. ~15 min.
- Remove from pan and allow quiche to rest for 5 minutes.
